Peer Review Process

JIMBS follows a rigorous double‑blind peer‑review process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and scientific integrity. Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the evaluation.

1. Initial Editorial Screening All submissions undergo an initial assessment for relevance, scientific quality, ethical compliance, and adherence to author guidelines. Manuscripts may be returned for revision or declined if they do not meet basic requirements.

2. Double‑Blind Review Manuscripts that pass screening are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. Reviewers evaluate methodological rigor, clarity of results, contribution to knowledge, ethical compliance, and overall scientific merit.

3. Reviewer Recommendations Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommend acceptance, minor revision, major revision, resubmission, or rejection.

4. Author Revision Authors must address all reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript with a point‑by‑point response. Further review rounds may occur if needed.

5. Final Decision The Editor‑in‑Chief or assigned Section Editor makes the final decision based on reviewer evaluations and the quality of revisions.

6. Proofreading and Publication Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, formatting, and final proofreading. Authors approve the final version before publication.

Publication Ethics

The journal adheres to international ethical guidelines, including COPE, ICMJE, and WAME standards. Authors must ensure that submitted work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism or data manipulation. Ethical approval is required for studies involving human participants or animals.

Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and provide objective, constructive feedback. Editors ensure unbiased decision‑making and uphold the integrity of the publication process.

Cases of misconduct—including plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices—will be investigated and handled according to COPE procedures.
